Summery from Goodreads:

Just when we think our nightmares are over, the Society has invented a new horror. Around every corner a shadow; behind every whisper a demon. If we don’t end what the devils began, we will all die haunted…

The finale in the acclaimed Magic Most Foul trilogy, the trauma and the terror of the Master’s Society has only escalated for the dashing Lord Denbury and brave, feisty Miss Natalie Stewart. A new terror has been unleashed in Manhattan. Together they, with their stalwart friends and unlikely heroes, take the fight directly to the Denbury estate, where fresh evils have awakened. But are they prepared for all the sacrifices that shall be asked of them? With their very lives and the sanctity of their mortal souls at stake, Natalie and Jonathon are past the point of no return…

My Review

As Natalie,Jonathan, and their allies prepare for taking down the Society for good, Jonathan’s friend Nathaniel’s group is targeted by the Society revealing more of their plan and gaining them new allies. As the final showdown looms will Natalie,Jonathan, and their friends be able to best the twisted Society once and for all in this shocking final book in the A Magic Most Foul Series.

Natalie is as brave and stubborn as ever in this book. I have always loved and respected character’s like Natalie who will do anything for the ones that they love and the good of humanity. Jonathan and Natalie have some relationship troubles in this book and watching them work though them gives even more proof they are soul mates. I was happy that Hieber didn’t have a love triangle as Natalie and Jonathan are perfect together and that just would have added drama that wasn’t needed. I didn’t like how in this book Jonathan tried to protect Natalie so much. He should have known by now she is very capable of protecting herself.I did understand Jonathan wanting to do some things on his own. Anyone would want after being imprisoned to reassert their freedom. Nathaniel and Lavina both play a big role in this book and since I am in love with their characters it was wonderful to see more of them.

The Final Battle didn’t go down at all like I thought. But in the end even if I didn’t see it coming,it really couldn’t have ended any other way. You get to see Sergeant Patt once more and he may or may not have changed his mind about a few things since book 1. Hieber weaves a wonderful tale of the paranormal that is unique, exciting, suspenseful,Gothic, and celebrates the power of love and goodness over evil. This is the saddest and happiest book in the series as is the tradition of last books. It was sad to say goodbye to these characters but I am very happy I will see more of some of them in The Eterna Files.
