The Prequel to the Lux Series
Genre: Young Adult Paranormal
Summery from Goodreads
The last thing Dawson Black expected was Bethany Williams. As a Luxen, an alien life form on Earth, human girls are…well, fun. But since the Luxen have to keep their true identities a secret, falling for one would be insane.
Dangerous. Tempting. Undeniable.
Bethany can’t deny the immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren’t a complication she wants, she can’t stay away from him. Still, whenever they lock eyes, she’s drawn in.
Captivated. Lured. Loved.
Dawson is keeping a secret that will change her existence…and put her life in jeopardy. But even he can’t stop risking everything for one human girl. Or from a fate that is as unavoidable as love itself.
SPOILERS FROM THE SERIES ALL FIVE BOOKS
Bethany moved from Nevada with her family to be close to her sick uncle. She doesn’t think she is going to meet Dawson and feel an attraction to him. But Dawson is not what he seems. He has done some things that shouldn’t be humanly possible. What is Dawson’s secret?
I loved seeing Dawson and Beth connect and fall in love. It was wonderful after reading about their relationship in the other books to see how it started. I loved how they both are like kindred spirits who have found each other. I was happy Dawson didn’t have the love at first sight. I liked how they were attracted to each other and their feelings grew. It was adorable that they fell sleep talking on the phone late into the night.
It so sad seeing how unbroken they were before Daedalus did what they did to them. I loved seeing Dawson,Dee and Daemon’s relationship before Daedalus. Daemon did learn how Dawson felt about Beth when he fell in love with Katy. Dawson really was like Dee in personality before Daedalus. It was just so sad to see how happy and carefree they were before those SOBs got their hands on them. I loved Adam. It must be hard being the only one that likes humans. Seeing as his brother and sister don’t. Andrew was such a jerk. A great prequel to the series and I was happy I read it after I read all the other books. I was really more invested in Dawson and Beth’s story that way.
