lux 5Opposition by Jennifer L Armentrout

The 5th and Final book in the Lux series

Genre: Young Adult Paranormal

Goodreads Summery

Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.

She can’t believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.

Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.

They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.

War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.

My Review

MAJOR SPOILERS FROM ALL THE BOOKS INCLUDING THIS ONE

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

All the Luxen have invaded and all hell has broken loose.Daemon,Dee,and Dawson have all been sucked into the Luxen hive. Nothing will ever be the same.

It turns out when there are a lot of Luxen together they all connect and want the same things. Daemon and Dawson haven’t fallen into the hive of Luxen because of their love for Katy and Beth but Dee has drunk the kool-aid. It was like someone replaced her whole bubbly caring character with a character that’s main emotion was hate. Turns out these Luxen are sadist SOBs. Archer and Luc both play big roles in this book. You also learn more about Luc, Archer is very obviously in love with Dee. You don’t know who’s an enemy or who’s a friend. The Luxen surprised me so much in this book. I thought they were the good alien race. I thought that Daedalus was lying. I thought that Daedalus had been deceived by the Arum and the Arum were going to try to invade and the Luxen would come to the human’s aid but no I was horribly wrong. It was more the other way around. I also couldn’t believe that Ethan was behind everything. I thought he was just another minion. This was the most action-packed book in the series.

Katy and Daemon are one of my favorite couples. Their love and devotion for each other knows no limit. They are a perfect match. Their personality’s balance each other out. After 5 books they have both grown up a lot and their relationship reached maturity in this final book. Katy and Daemon started this series as teenagers but ended it as adults.Daemon makes aliens sexy. I just love his character. He has such a great heart and how he loves and supports Katy makes every girl want a Daemon. Katy has grown so much from book 1. She found out that she was stronger then she thought. I loved how she still had such compassion and kindness even after all she went though.

I loved that this series didn’t have a love triangle. That JLA knew that three was a crowd on this one and their could be no two more perfect people for one another and had these books being about working on their relationship and not which guy Katy would pick when it would always be Daemon. It was so sad to say goodbye to this series. I have just fallen in love with these characters. I loved the the epilogue and how happy everyone was at the end. A perfect conclusion to a beautiful series full of action, love, betrayal, passion, and aliens.
