Opal by Jennifer L Armentrout Review

opalcoOpal by Jennifer L Armentrout

The Third book in The Lux series

Genre: Young Adult Paranormal

Summery from Goodreads

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different… And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger… and they know it.

My Review

Dawson is back but he isn’t the same. Dee is devastated over Adam’s death. Dee and Katy’s friendship is broken. Katy and Daemon are finally together but with enemies old and new coming at them from all sides will they or their friends and family ever be the same again.

Poor Daemon and Dee to get their brother back but only a shell of his old self must be devastating. Plus Dee dealing with Adam’s death. Just when they are happy together and he gets killed by that SOB Blake. Poor Katy. She can’t tell her mom about Will. Which I didn’t see coming as one of the bad guys. It was a big shock to me last book. I loved Dawson and missed the old Dee. Dawson’s love for Beth is beautiful. Both brothers love with everything they have.

Daemon and Katy’s relationship seems to be maturing and it’s great seeing them together. They go though real relationship struggles like jealousy issues and overprotective issues along with all the alien issues. Katy and Daemon’s sexual chemistry is still off the charts hot. If you weren’t in love with Daemon after the first two books you will be while reading this book. I love his character more and more. That scene after Prom was magical and romantic.

Watching Katy process not being the same girl after all she went though was understandable and very real. You meet an another hybrid named Luc and I wonder what future role he is going to play. This book grabbed me from the start and I had so much trouble putting it down. HOLY COWS that Cliffhanger ending. Thank God I waited for all the books to come out before I started this series.
